Owen Toews
Owen Toews was born in Winnipeg in 1986 and is descended from Russian Mennonites. He is the author of one previous novel, Island Falls (ARP Books), and the work of nonfiction Stolen City: Racial Capitalism and the Making of Winnipeg (ARP Books), winner of the 2019 Carol Shields Winnipeg Book Award and the 2019 Mary Scorer Award for Best Book by a Manitoba Publisher. He was trained as a geographer at the City University of New York Graduate Center. He lives in Winnipeg.
